What Happens If You're Stuck with Earthly Teachings?

Image
iStock You must grow spiritually in Christ, no doubt. No growth means no life. No life means no part in Christ, whatsoever. And Jesus said the main reason why someone would have no life in him is because he refuses to eat Jesus' flesh. Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. [John 6.53] And what does it mean to "eat the flesh of the Son of Man"? The context is clear. It's about swallowing Jesus' radical teachings---like eating his flesh and drinking his blood. He taught them: "This bread is my flesh...whoever eats this bread lives forever."  Then later he told them what it all meant: "Whoever eats me (or feeds on me) will live because of me." He even hinted on how he also "ate" the Father (he lived because of the Father). All this eating business proved too much for some of his disciples so they left him for good. In other words, they were stuck to earthly teachings a

Jesus Christ said: "If You Want to be Perfect"

Image
Shutter Stock We all know the story. A rich, young ruler went to Jesus to ask how to have eternal life. Jesus didn't tell the young man to receive him as Savior but told him to obey the commandments. Neither did Jesus say, "you must be born again" as he did Nicodemus. Queer. Didn't Paul tell us no one could be justified by the works of the law? Yet Jesus said eternal life is through obeying the commandments. And James said the perfect law leads to freedom [1.25]. So, which is which? Jesus told us no one has the right to delete the importance of the law because he did't come to abolish it but to fulfill it. In fact, your standing in God's Kingdom depends on your attitude about the law. Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. [Matthew 5.19] We'

How You Get "Residual Income" in God's Kingdom 2

Image
Adhesives & Sealants Industry Here's Part 1 Residual income is income you get even after a sale is done and over. You still get income from that one sale you made a long time ago, and that income never stops. That's earthly marketing. Something like that also happens in the spiritual realms. Sharing God's Word to people and living out the Word of God daily (living the LIFE of Jesus daily) brings you great rewards. In fact, anything done for God and his Kingdom according to God's Word brings you rewards. God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them. [Hebrews 6.10] And another promise goes like this: Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. [1 Corinthians 15.58] Continuing Blessings But blessings in Christ are not just one-time affairs. They keep going on---provided you continue to sh

Seed that Fell Along the Path: Understanding that Can't Get Past Human Theology

Image
rambleswithacamera.blogspot.com Jesus said, the seed that fell along the path was eaten by birds, and "birds" symbolized the devil here. The exact meaning was thus explained: The seed that fell on the footpath represents those who hear the message about the Kingdom and don’t understand it. Then the evil one comes and snatches away the seed that was planted in their hearts. [Matthew 13] The "message about the Kingdom" is quite different from the regular bible studies and Sunday sermons that go on in denominational churches.  This Kingdom  message  turns you into a Kingdom person concerned solely about the Kingdom of God on earth. Bible studies and Sunday sermons in denominational churches use the bible to turn folks into denominational people who know only about their denomination and nothing about the Kingdom. Something like this: But if you don’t believe me when I tell you about earthly things, how can you possibly believe if I tell you ab

Why Many Christians Despise Reading the Bible

Image
americanvision.org Many pastors would deny it, but if you're honest enough, you'd admit that a lot of Christians today despise reading the bible. Young people or adults. They'd bury themselves in various church activities but not in seriously studying the bible. I always study people's attitude toward the Word of God when I visit churches. You'd see them seriously involved in the choir, worship team, fellowship, church concert or cantata (or other stage ministries), medical mission, feeding program, gifts giving, social work or community outreach, etc. But it's different when it comes to serious bible studies. Listless During Bible Studies When bible study comes, they show disinterest, sluggishness, lethargy, don't pay much attention (you always catch their thoughts wandering far from the topic) or don't show up at all. Or they'd show up late, when bible study is almost over. Others go there just to see their crush in church, or be re

Don't Get Born Again Just Because You Fear Hell

Most preachers preach on being born again as an antidote to hell so sinners can still enjoy their usual sinful lives after "accepting" Christ. This supposedly spares them from hell and assures them of heaven. That's why the term "saved sinners" has become popular. Churches today are manned by them  and  laugh at the   idea of being saved saints instead. No such thing as saved saints, or those who have repented totally of sins and live in them no longer. They hate the idea and insist nothing can be possible except being saved sinners . No one is perfect and salvation doesn't make you one either, they add. So they've been preaching like that and people naturally like it--getting saved and still retaining the world, too. You don't have to lose anything. It's like asking people, "Who wants to get $1 million?" Of course, they'd all grab the challenge like crazy. Getting "saved" like that is so much fun and it's been eas

New Evangelism

Image
These last days, God's Kingdom is moving a new evangelism. It's not anymore purely scare tactics that force you to choose between the fires of hell or comfort in heaven. People who "accept" salvation by choosing heaven's comfort often make an intellectual decision--they don't want to suffer hell. That's smart. But God's Kingdom is now offering a new evangelism-- receiving Jesus because they fall madly in love with him. Romans says, "If you believe in your heart...you'll be justified (and saved) ." It's not head belief that really saves; it's heart belief. And God's Kingdom is now pointedly disseminating that. Receiving Christ out of a fanatical, mad, and desperate love for him and what he does and has. Receiving the Kingdom The Kingdom of God is within you, says the Master. If it's in you then you should act it out now. You should be a Kingdom person. A sure connection with God is seeking His Kingdom first. A

Impotent Gospel Sharing

Almost everyone today can share and is sharing the Gospel. It's both good and bad news. Good news because, as Paul said, whether from right or wrong motive, the main thing is that Christ is preached. Bad news because, Gospel sharing from a wrong life and heart is nothing but trash. Impotent Gospel sharing is rampant today. They share God's Word and yet live opposite to what it is. That does not amount to anything in the Kingdom; perhaps in terms of information dissemination in the physical realms, yes. But bible information dissemination that affects only the physical realm merely fills up the head--head knowledge that only makes men more stubborn--head knowledge that only wants to escape from hell's fire and eternal damnation. Head knowledge can never make you fall deeply in love with Jesus and be amazed at Kingdom Come. It only scares you about hell, so you go to church each Sunday and clap and wave your hands "in praise" and do other religious stuff that

Genuine Born Again (Part 2)

Image
A genuine born again church always points people to Jesus. You want to grow strong in your spiritual life? Be deep in Jesus and His Word—be God’s flesh on earth. Church activities and programs are zero, pffft! Any achievements you have with your church programs or denomination is garbage. It’s always the Word, Word, Word! The Holy Spirit does not show up without the Word, particularly the rhema Word.  Church (especially going to a church building on Sundays) as it is done today, is never a LIFE source. Again, it is nothing but trash. You cannot say church fellowship, as done today, will make you stronger and better Christians. More entertained perhaps. Or more showbiz-like. What they say about not attending church regularly makes you weak spiritually is a big LIE! Among the weakest of weak and immature Christians I've seen are faithful church goers. And sometimes, even their pastors, too. Getting inside that building they call church won't make you strong spiritually.

Genuine Born Again (Part 1)

Image
What really is a genuine born again Christian? Most “born again” Christians are mass produced, a result of commercialized evangelism and church recruitment systems. Churches aim at being full-packed with members, or being the biggest church, or being instant mega churches, and hasten Gospel sharing using instant evangelism formulas that oversimplify salvation. A quick-fix or some sort of salvation for idiots book. Just ask forgiveness and accept Jesus as Lord and Savior and wham! You’re a Christian! Then join the church and be active. It’s been producing rotten churches that sprout everywhere, at every corner, and even big showy cathedrals (but often snobbing each other). You see them in stiff competition side by side on the same street or area, each bringing a different version of the Gospel but using the same Name, Jesus Christ. Today, you see showbiz folks whose marriages fail, families disintegrate (but glamorized on TV), and showbiz sexy female stars who wear dress
